Black Bridge Food’s Taiwan Pork joins forces with Sofitel Manila’s Spiral
When visiting Taiwan, one of the highlights is experiencing its exceptional cuisine, given the country’s culinary heritage and commitment to food excellence.
Thanks to the Taiwan Pork initiative, sponsored by the Taiwan Ministry of Agriculture and spearheaded by the Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) of Taiwan, consumers in the Philippines can now enjoy the same high-quality pork products with ease.
The initiative involved suppliers such as Black Bridge Foods, renowned for its flavorsome products; Cha I Shan, a prominent pork processing company leveraging modern technology to produce top-tier fresh pork; Du Hsiao Yueh, well-known for their traditional dan tzai noodles; the highly acclaimed Food Lee; leading meatball company Hairei; Jin Tian Food; Odiva, producing top-quality Taiwanese black pig pork; and Way Fong, a major player in the pork jerky and pork floss market.
On November 28, 2023, the Taiwan Pork roadshow at Ayala Malls Manila Bay showcased an array of delectable offerings, including sausages, meatballs suitable for hotpots, pork floss, bacon jerky, canned spicy minced pork, pork belly, and more ready-to-eat delights. The sausages, reminiscent of Pinoy-style longganisa and chorizo, stood out with their delightful sweet and juicy flavor. The pork chunks in sauce, akin to the taste of pares and pork adobo, were perfect for pairing with rice.
The following day, we visited Sofitel’s renowned restaurant Spiral, where Taiwanese pork products had been added to the buffet menu. The menu featured Taiwanese-style deep-fried pork chop, braised minced pork with rice, BBQ pork with osmanthus and honey sauce, pan-fried pork sausage, and meatball noodle soup.
Renowned for its wide array of high-quality Asian dishes, the addition of these flavorful, succulent offerings to Spiral’s menu was a delightful expansion.
